Scouting Breakneck - March 23, 2003

Pretty early on Guy got stuck and I tried to pull him out. When I did, the ice to my left broke and I got stuck as well.

Pretty early on Guy got stuck and I tried to pull him out. When I did, the ice to my left broke and I got stuck as well.   After Jeremy pulled me out with his Amigo, I went through. You can see where I broke through in the left foreground.   We had to steer to the right to get through.   Yes, it's muddy...   There was a notch to navigate. I crunched my fender coming back out through here.   Once you went through the water and breaking ice, you got up onto solid ice.   Guy starting out - each of us broke more ice as we went through.   When Guy came up onto the solid part there was a huge chunk of ice under his truck. It broke up and here is about half of it.   Higher up there was this fun, partially melted trench.   I expected one of us to break through but we never did.   Coming back we met these guys on quads.   Unfortunately for them we had broken the ice they used to ride over.   They got pretty wet.

March 23, 2003
HCMP(Amigo), Guy(Montero) and I(Hardbody) met up in southeast MA to scout the trails for the March run. We got about halfway around the lake when we turned around due to some engine problems.
